Legend has it that having conquered the Demon King, Pak Tai was ennobled as Superior Divinity of the Deep Dark Heaven and True Soldier of the North.
The annual Feast of Pak Tai - held on the third day and month of the Chinese calendar - falls this year on April 8 and is a popular rite among the older inhabitants of Taipa Village and surrounding district. A golden dragon and lion dance parade will be held in Taipa old town, with Chinese Opera performances held in front of Pak Tai Temple for four consecutive nights. According to tradition, a banquet will be served by the residents of the area in honour of the historic victory, to which all members of the public are welcome on April 11.
