As part of the Macau Orchestra Concert Season 2007-2008, the Chinese Music Series programme features 'Sketches in the Mountains of Guizhou' by Ju Jianer. Composed in 1982, this Chinese symphony was assisted by the rise of the New Wave Movement, a group of young composers who introduced modern Western musical techniques into the creation of their symphonic works. 'Sketches in the Mountains of Guizhou' is one of the major works to be produced during this 'creative hothouse' period.
Audiences can also enjoy 'Sunshine Over Tashkorgan', the 'Morning of Miao Mountains' by Chen Gang and other acclaimed pieces in this concert.
