The Netherlands' ISH Institute is going to bring its Hip Hop gurus to Macao to wage an original battle with local b-boys! A group of multidisciplinary young artists from the ISH Institute will hold a two-week Hip Hop Workshop in Macao, showing us all there is to know about this urban culture - street dance, break dance, martial arts, rap, beat box, etc. By the end of the workshop, participants will be taking part in the backstage design and production of their final performance, where they will be showing how original and interesting the Macao Hip Hop movement can be!
ISH was founded in 1999, following an idea of making a show around disciplines that had never before been seen in the theatre, merging urban culture with inspirational elements of a pop concert, video clips, cartoons, video games and film. The title derived from the suffix ‘ish' used to explain something that doesn’t fit in a precise definition. Therefore, ISH stands for the multidisciplinary character of the shows. Acrobatic stunts, street dance, break dance, video art, martial arts, acrobatics, rap and beat box, all find a place within ISH.
The ISH institute organizes numerous activities throughout the Netherlands, like workshops, demos, and school and theatre projects, and has toured throughout the United States, Canada, Russia and Europe. Let’s wait and see what they are going to do here with Macao’s Hip Hop crew!
