Ocean Gardens
Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and have a few questions
My husband looks like he will be getting a job at Crown and we are looking into accomodation, reading through the posts it seems like Ocean Gardens is a good option, so here are my questions;
1) Would it be easy for my husband to commute from Ocean Gardens to Crown Casino, walking or bus?
2) We are looking for at least a 2 bedroom flat for us and our 3 year old kid, would that be big enough and approx what do the renting prices range from?
Thanks for help

Hi there,
1) From Ocean Gardens to Crown: walking, 20 minutes. Bus, possible but not ideal (bus connections from Ocean Gardens to other places in Taipa are not very good). Worst case scenario: taxi, USD 2,50.
2) 2 bedrooms: big enough and between MOP 5000-7000 depending on building, agent, etc.
Cheers,
DrPoi
Thanks DrPoi!
much appreciated, 20 mins walking is not too bad and taxi sounds cheap too.
WHY NOT TRY THE NOVA CITY A NEW BUILDING AND JUST NEXT DOOR TO CROWN HOTEL
Yes, Nova City is really nice with a great club house and pool. We live at Pearl on the Lough, which is about 8 mins walk from The Crown. The apartments are quite large (4 bed) but really lovely.

do NOT move into a new building. i repeat do NOT unless you want to hear drilling into concrete walls day in and day out. seriously. my husband lived in Nova City Taipa which is nice, but the construction noise made it impossible during the morning and day to enjoy your living space.
check out the Kingsville. it is pricey, but it's one of the better buildings in Taipa. and it's also about less than a ten minute walk to the Crown.
Thanks everyone for your input :-)
Yeah, Nova City is a better choice--it's just a few minutes' walk from Crown, and it's just 2, 3 years old, which is important if you want something clean.
My first real estate agent got me an older flat for 7,500/month and it turned out to be a roach farm. I gave up the deposit and commission and got myself another apartment in Nova City, which solves the problem. Btw, I'd like to recommend my second agent--she's very patient with my quirks and went out of her way to negotiate a contract that I'm pretty happy with. (Flora Ngan, cellphone: 6633-7122).
