Hi, all ;-)

I'll be going over to Macau soon for a job posting but i'm heading over there 1st in about 2 weeks time to scout around.

I've tried the internet for places around Taipa but the selection is fairly limited. I'm looking at 1200sq ft type for rent and can house a family of 4.

Any recommendations / contacts so that i can better focus my search?

cheers!

You really just have to come

You really just have to come here and meet real estate agents in person. Macau and Taipa are overflowing with them. Walk down most any street and you'll see signs in the windows. When I looked for an apartment I was shown a few dozen places and worked with about 10 agents. I just walked into their office and gave my budget and how many bedrooms I was looking for.

While there are postings online, they are nothing compared to what you will find through the agents.

I agree. We have just got

I agree. We have just got back from having a look around; seeing 14 apartments in 3 days.
We used a number of agents too: Century 21, macau land Property and whoever deals with the Manhattan.
Heres a quick rundown, but you do end up seeing the same blocks of apartments over and over again - so once you've decided which 'blocks' you prefer you can concentrate your efforts a bit more.

Helene Garden - Coloane; lovely area and great for families but I don't drive so a bit too far out for me!
Ocean Gardens - again lovely sea views but older blocks.
Nova City - Great, modern and new - great clubhouse (apparently; they wouldn't let us in to see!)
Kingsville - great valueand nice central location - but a bit too dark inside. (Thats just my taste)
Manhattan - more like a posh hotel than a home..but it has agreat pool/gym ..and private cinema!!

We ended up taking one in Pearl on the Lough - huge, light and airy..with the most amazing views. And through a privte agent - please send me a message if you want her details. She had the contracts sorted out in 24hrs and has been fantastic!

We couldn't beleive how many we got to see in such a short space of time. Once you get out there and a bit of trolling about, you will soon decide which you prefer. Hope this helps!
