When renting an apartment; what extra bills are you expected to pay yourself? Is it all electric? Do you register with ALL the utilities; and is there a service charge (which can bump up the price a lot!!) ??
Also - do you need/have heating (I hate even ONE night of being cold!)

When renting an apartment in Macau, you are expected to pay for all of your utility bills.

Since the majority of the apartments are not insulated, you will definitely need heating during the winter.

Is there a more popular area of Macau that Expats live in? Any areas that are advised to avoid?
