Are you kidding? Macau is the heaven of pawn shops! You've got a bunch around every casino. Although those are places I don't particularly trust and wouldn't get my nose into...
I'm not talking about jewelry shops. I'm referring to pawn shops where I can buy used musical instruments like keyboards and guitars, power tools and electronics.
Uh, ok... Actually your question looked strange coming from someone living in Macau :))
Regarding your REAL question, Macau is not a good second hand market, simply because in the Chinese culture it's not usual having "old" things from other people. This said, you can find some electronic stuff in the streets around the Kiang Wu hospital (second hand turntables, speakers, amplifiers), although either in very bad shape or extremely expensive (or both). Also, in the narrow streets by the inner harbour, you can find some audio/video equipment and furniture. Never seen musical instruments but you might give it a try.
Sorry, no addresses. You REALLY need to walk around.
chanteuse, following is the link to macau 's most popular second-hand website, this page i link to you is specificaly for audio/musical stuff. i know you can't read chinese..., one stupid suggestion,, you might try some online dictionary website, copy and paste the chinese and then you know what they r talking about..
i know i know, it's read tedious..
good luck
I will ask one of my co-workers if she can figure out who's selling what!
Eventually I will learn to speak Cantonese so that I can not only express myself but survive. As for the written language...
This is still a mystery to me. It was explained in my first and second cantonese lessons how the written language came to be and how it has developed. It actually made a lot of sense. I hope to learn more as my experience expands.

These two places might be worth trying, sorry but i don't have their address;
CARITAS - 2857 3297
SALVATION ARMY- 2843 2888
they're charity organizations that accept used items then re-sell what's appropriate so they might have something you're looking for.
