The annual Dragon Boat Races are about to start this coming May on Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre once again in celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival. This year the duration of the competition is extended from 3 to 4 days and one special race is newly added: 2000 meter-round-goal competition, in which each dragon boat team is required to sail round the goal and finish the 2000 meter leg. Dragon boat competition is a traditional Chinese activity. Capturing the attention of thousands of visitors every year, local teams as well as others from nearby regions vie for both the championship and public applause.
