When completed, the world’s largest integrated resort will span across 250 acres of tourism development, which will result in 20,000 hotel rooms across 13 luxury properties, reinventing the entire region, it was announced at last week’s IT&CM.
The area is also expected to boast 279,000 square meters of meeting and convention space, alongside 279,000 square meters of retail space. It will also feature the world’s largest gaming area of 150,000 square meters, as well as 25,000 seats of live entertainment.
The development is expected to open up the area to new source markets, but the corporation is not limiting its potential.
“We are looking at the whole world as a source market. We are attracting new markets to Macau, such as a new segment market with females who will visit to shop,” The Venetian, Public Relations Supervisor, Emma Li said.
The Venetian, also part of the development, has already received accolades as Asia’s best MICE hotel after opening less than a year ago.
“The momentum our MICE team has been experiencing is incredible and the current demand is far beyond our expectations,” President and COO of Las Vegas Sands, William Weidner said.
“Bringing an entirely new approach to the MICE industry in Asia has definitely paid off as trade show organisers recognise our team’s experience and our one-of-a-kind integrated resort that will allow these shows to attract attendees.”
“With MICE activities it is bringing a lot of international travellers, not just dominated by the Chinese market,” Ms Li said.
